I know of Harmony Gold's claim to own exclusive US distribution rights to all Macross related materials, such as films, toys, and print media. I also know that Japanese courts nullified the original deal Harmony Gold had with the studio that sold them the original licensing agreement based upon the fact that they in fact did not own what they were selling (it was originally a joint Tatsunoko/Nue production).

I am wanting to know if there is any chance of Macross: Delta or F coming stateside, well, ever.

Regardless of what happened in Japan, if I understand correctly what this link says, Harmony Gold owns the Macross trademark at least for US and it has renewed it until 2023 as indicated near the bottom of this Justia Trademarks page under Trademark Events

Oh dear lord. Robotech got me into anime, then I learned it was just a mashup of Macross, Southern Cross, and Genesis Climber Mospeada, with an "original" storyline...........I have hated Harmony Gold ever since. 2023............for fracks sake. And thanks for the answer, did not know that trademark site. – NZKshatriya Jan 11 '17 at 23:22
  • just quoted the part which shows it's been renewed to 2023 since initially i couldn't find it (was looking for the year 2023) – Memor-X Jan 12 '17 at 0:08
  • I sincerly hope they start to use the licence for more then than just doing legal cases to earn money by suing everyone and everything that uses something that remotely looks like a mecha that can be out of macross (they even successfully drove companies bankrupt that way a few times) – Thomas Jan 12 '17 at 16:45
