need help identifying magic school anime with male main character brown haired / normal looking male freshman who is selected by the other main character a senior / high ranking female with either blonde/ black or white hair i cant remember.

the female characters pick a single male character to form a bond with. i believe that they fight against either other people or magic is included in a different world.

my memory is super foggy but i remember watching like a couple episodes, meaning to get back to it and it just got lost. i cant identify because tag has been removed for identify but please help
