The manga has the drawing of the Rasengan on one of the colors yellow, and the games says it is blue. I think it's yellow because I believe the manga is canon. What is the actual canon color of the Rasengan?

The colour of rasengan mainly depends on the chakra's nature of the user. – marmikshah Nov 8 '13 at 5:05

Strictly speaking, the canonical color of the Rasengan should be yellow, because Naruto's chakra is yellow in the manga. (Chapter 91) Naruto's chakra color

The anime changed the chakra color to blue for some reason, probably because they felt blue looked better in the animation. Games are often made to resemble the anime, not the manga, so that could be the reason they picked blue.

The yellow image in the anime that you mention is an inconsistency. They may have used the color from the manga for that image because it wasn't important for the plot.

  • In addition, in anime, Naruto also created a Rasengan with rainbow chakra. I just don't remember. – Nara Shikamaru Nov 8 '13 at 13:16

@NaraShikamaru This is what you are looking for. Seven coloured Rasengan. It was a movie-only technique. – Masked Man Nov 8 '13 at 13:18
  • Aha. Thanks for pointing that out.:) – Nara Shikamaru Nov 11 '13 at 13:04

The rasengan is blue because pure chakra appears blue to the human eye. Despite naruto's nine tail chakra being orange he does not utilize this chakra when using the jutsu hence the rasengan takes the form of a blue rotating orb.

However it has taken multiple colors before in the anime and manga and this is because of what chakra is used to create the jutsu.

Everyone's chakra is meant to be a different colour and it only depends on how thick it is. Naruto's is meant to be yellow, Sakura's green and Sasuke's black, but they decided to make all of them blue.

  • I write coloUr too, but you don't need to capitalise your u's just because other people don't use them. – JNat Dec 18 '14 at 18:30

Its supposed to be yellow/orange like we see in the last, like it was previously stated everyone was meant to have a unique color chakra
