I answered my own question partway through writing it with a visit to http://iqdb.com. Rather than delete the question, I made it a shill for iqdb (brought to my attention by Logan M. in this question's answer.) iqdb led me to this page that lists all the series and characters in this picture.

I think you're over-thinking this.
Izaya, for lack of a better word, is a troll. Period.

ASCII Media Works is the parent company for Durarara's publisher (a brand company of Kadokawa), Dengeki Bunko amongst other things. This is why most of these references to shows are referenced by their light novels instead of manga.
Durarara!! and Baccano! were written by the same person, Ryohgo Narita. The same studio (JC Staff) did the animation.
If you want to watch it from the beginning. Watch it according to this order.

In Japan folklore, there is no such thing as a cursed blade which turns people into slaves or zombies or whatever Saika turns people into.
Many of the most known cursed blades are Muramasa's, however they are rather famous for being able to cut through armor while regular blade were used on weak spots (not even close to saika's abilities) or to make their ...
Durarara episode 12.5, "Justice Is Slow But Sure" isn't a recap episode. It and episode 25
are DVD only episodes that actually have some semblence of plot to them (as much plot as you get with Durarara). It's not related to any of the
main plotlines, though, especially the:
So it's kind of a side story. You can treat them as OVAs.
Two things we have to straighten out here:
There's nothing pornographic in this show; it's a show aimed at teenagers and young adults who can deal with the themes, action, and suggestive scenes contained within.
It's unfair to say it's "NSFW" when you're in your own living room. What you do in your living room (within reason, so long as you're an adult) ...
Not sure if you're counting with Durarara x2, but as far as I remember, there's at least on scene less appropriate to see in public ( with public, I mean not covered ). It's not anything showing off, but rather some actions between two characters.
This is actually just HEIWAJIMA Shizuo when he was younger. There's a flashback in episode 7, lasting from roughly 06:48 to 11:12, that shows how Shizuo got to be so strong in the first place. Your screencap occurs around 07:55.
Izaya traded Celty's head from Namie Yagiri for a favor. Namie works in Yagiri Pharmaceuticals where Celty's head was stored at that time. Namie had access to the storage room and didn't need the head that much, so she gave it to Izaya.
Also see this excerpt from a Durarara wiki:
At his apartment, Izaya meets with Namie once again. He comments on her ...
Wikipedia and Manga Updates say that the anime covers the first three volumes of the light novels.

Unfortunately, it was Izaya that ordered them to hurt Anri, which happened in the Akane arc.
Varona arrives at their hideout and Sloan tells her of another job given to them by Izaya Orihara to neutralize, but not kill, Anri Sonohara
As for the reason, it was not mentioned, but it was probably to make sure she would not interfere with Haruna Niekawa as ...
The scene is from episode 22. It begins around 21:20 and ends at about 21:55, at least on the Japanese bluray.
You probably haven't been able to find it on YouTube due to the content ID system; there is seemingly some background music or something during that scene that causes it to get instantly blocked.
She is one of Karisawa's cosplayer friends, the girl that made Anri cosplay in one of the episodes.
A screenshot of Azurin and Reh-chan.
Azurin and Reh-chan were amongst Karisawa’s fellow cosplayers, and were about the same age as Anri.
A quote from Volume 10 Chapter 2.
If you're super-observant, you can actually spot Kururi and Mairu as early as episode 8 of the first season. They appear in the background of one shot (at right).
They aren't introduced by name, but an enterprising Japanese-reading person who recognizes Kitamura Eri's voice could take a look at the end credits and spot their names there.
It sounds to me ...
What was brought up above is part of it. However, Izaya is a really complex character to fully understand, especially in the anime and manga, so if you're really wanting to understand it as best as possible, you ought to read the light novels. The only two people I think you could say he actually 'hates' are Heiwajima Shizuo, and a boy by the name of Nakura (...
