From what I could gather from this ANN article (from the "The High Prices... Explained!" part), the high price is due to rental pricing. Basically the home video industry was originally "set-up" so that only a few thousand sales were made for niche releases, and these were made to video rental shops. The prices were around $89.95 (in America, which also used ...

She seems to be Natsume Reiko from Natsume Yuujinchou Sometimes, she's shown with a baseball bat with some seals on it, which she uses to fight youkai. This is a picture of her wielding the bat: For extra confirmation, the same figure can be seen on Amazon with 夏目友人帳 (Natsume Yuujinjou) and 夏目レイコ (Natsume Reiko) in the description.

This link seems to document all the toys and cards. There were 5 toys. These were a Pikachu keychain, Pikachu Clock, Charizard Treasure Box, Kecleon Keychain, and a Celebi compass (though the image has Torchic). Here's images of all five: According to this site, the promotion began May 19th 2003, and very likely lasted 5 weeks. I haven't been able to find a ...

By "cel sheets" do you mean hand-painted animation cels? In Japanese, these are called seru-ga (セル画). When searching, "anime cel" will give you more search results than "cel sheets" (which is not a common phrase). The line drawing that corresponds to the seru-ga is called a douga. When purchasing, ascertain whether your purchase includes the douga and/or the ...

I think they can be considered Papercraft. Also called Pepakura, from "pepa kurafuto", I guess. If you search google for pepakura models, you can find sites with lots of designs to print and assemble. Since you will need scissors and most times, glue, they are not considered origami.

Although I have no manga, I do have a large comic book collection. I protect them with "comic book bags" (or sleeves) and anti-acidic cardboard. They are stored in special boxes designed for comic books. These supplies are also available and fitted for manga. You can store 1 or 2 books per bag. If two, you place them back to back, with an anti-acidic ...

The game also got an anime ...

It's related to the manga X. Here's a pretty helpful review by an Amazon.com user: This is a well-made, high quality hardcover artbook collecting color artwork from the manga (comic) X/1999 (as it is published in the US). X/1999 is a supernatural, apocalyptic story about destiny and choices leading toward the end of the world, written and illustrated by a ...

Because it is extremely niche market. Anime in Japan is not that popular as you might think. Most anime airs way into night, mostly around midnight. That is why, even if anime is accepted much more in Japan, the number of people who watch late-night shows and are actually willing to pay is quite low. Just look at top sales of anime: Bakemonogatari is ...

Basically the fakes are of lower quality. If its sculpting is not ...

All three are from the Galaxy Angel Series, in particular the first series featuring the Moon Angel Troop. The figures themselves I believe come from the Limited Edition of the first volume of the anime (which is totally different from the visual novels). They are, as Sigfried666 has pointed out, Milfeulle, Forte and Vanilla. You seem to be missing Ranpha (...

Since I posted the question half a year ago, I've been tracking Sailor Moon scripts on Yahoo! Japan Auctions more regularly. If you are looking for a script of a specific episode, you should act when it becomes available, because there are always some scripts up for sale, but not scripts of most of the episodes of such a long series. At a given time, about ...

You are correct that it is about a rush of timing during the initial broadcast of the series. The Sailor Moon Crystal Failures website is maintaining a log of Toei's initial run screenshots with their Blu-Ray revisions. Toei was running behind from the beginning (it originally announced that Sailor Moon Crystal would start in summer of 2013, but the release ...

Following up on some stories I heard of yaoi fans I know from conventions, and a lot of trips on the WayBack machine to find old/deleted posts following the first ban, I came down to this pretty consistent story both online and among the fans. The original yaoi paddle was made as a prank between 2 friends. The one receiving it was a yaoi manga/doujishin ...

I couldn't find this keychain anywhere but if you look up his name there is the same image on tumblr (he is a boy and a vampire by the way) this must be a Halloween costume. Anyway here is his image on zerochan :)

I did some research, and it appears this won't be answered with a simple straight answer. This page has all the release dates for Blu-ray disc up-to-date, and this page (and this forum thread too) has all the HD DVD release dates up until the format was discontinued. The first occurrence of anime in either format is The Ultimate Matrix Collection, released ...

Amazon Japan has the Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso soundtrack available for download: "Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso ORIGINAL SONG & SOUNDTRACK". It's an MP3 download (so not lossless, unfortunately). The whole OST is 3000 JPY (~25 USD), or you can buy individual songs (but this quickly becomes more expensive than just buying the album). The OST does not appear to ...
